Hello! I’m Glenna, the artist and owner behind AF.
Alluring Foliage was a passion project that has now transformed into a small business. I am combining the skills gained through many creative outlets to make items that I find enchanting and hope you enjoy! My designs and sketches are handcrafted into colorful mixed media jewelry and décor pieces using wood, resin, dried plant materials, and paints. I also create graphic art which I place on printed items such as stickers, prints, and t-shirts.
alluring (adj) : having a strongly attractive or enticing quality.
foliage (noun): a cluster of or an ornamental representation of leaves, flowers, and branches.
AF was slowly budding for years as I dabbled in various creative hobbies and added to my skill set. I’ve explored forms of jewelry making, up-cycling furniture, gardening, photography, knitting, graphic design, and video editing, just to name a few. Just like me, AF has an eclectic style that varies from day to day depending on my current inspiration. I find inspiration in nature and many different styles of art and fashion, be it bohemian, modern, retro, kawaii, gothic, romantic; you name it and I might make it! One of the most common themes you will see in my pieces is nature’s flora. I often bring my love for plants into pieces through shapes/figures or by adding dried preserved flora. At the end of the day, I just love to play with color theory, mixing and making colors work together is my jam!
I am passionate about creating every day and learning through hands-on experimentation. There's nothing like the satisfaction of hand creating an original piece from start to finish. I’m always learning new techniques and trying new mediums. It really is a labor of love and a form of art therapy. You can always find me tinkering with the various creative aspects of my handmade business, even if it’s just packing material or an informational insert!
I’m currently producing unique small batch items for my Etsy shop and restocking as demand calls for it. You can also find me at craft fair markets in the southern California region. I hope to share my enthusiasm for creativity and handmade "foliage" with you. The world is a strange and colorful place, and I invite you to join me on my journey to capture some of that allure through art!
